5 Dollar Store DIY Decor Ideas for Summer
These DIY decor projects are quick, simple and best of all: inexpensive! Come get some ideas on what you can make for your home with dollar store supplies for summer.
It’s so much fun to add a DIY touch to items found in the dollar store to make them match my decor for a seasonal update on a budget. I also love hitting up the dollar store for craft supplies to make completely new items! Here are some ideas on summer decor you could make with items from Dollar Tree this season. You can also watch the video at the end of this post for all of the step-by-step instructions on how to make these!
1: “Vacation Fund” Shabby Chic Frame Bank
Paint and distress the frame of this cute Dollar Tree frame bank, add a fabric backing and glue on a pretty raffia ribbon bow and you have a beachy bank that’s cute and useful!
2: Beachy Succulent Bowl
Glue some twine around the top of a plastic dollar store bowl, pour some marine-blue rocks inside, and decorate with faux succulents and sea shells for a summery table top display.
3: Nautical Glass Lantern
Upcycle an old pickle jar into a sea-worthy lantern by wrapping it with dollar store fishing net and finishing it off with twine.
4: Rustic Succulent Planter
Paint and distress a dollar store wooden box with paint & stain, fill it with floral foam, and top it with moss and faux succulents for an easy but adorable addition to your coffee table.
5: Summery Photo Frame
Adding paint, fishing net and shells gives the clothesline photo frame currently at Dollar Tree the perfect nautical spin for the season!
Also: I’m loving all of the iridescent glass pieces at the Dollar Tree right now! Aren’t the mermaid tail dishes and votive holders I’ve added to our summer decor so cute?!
