5 Senses Holiday Gift Idea for Him with Cricut Joy
Do you have a significant other who’s notoriously hard to buy gifts for? This 5 senses gift idea made with Cricut Joy is a fun and romantic way to create a special gift box for that special someone. Here’s one I’ve made for my husband, and I hope it gives you ideas on how you could put one together for a loved one, too!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.
What is a 5 senses gift?
A five senses gift is a gift basket or collection of wrapped gifts that include items that use each of the 5 senses. There will be an item to smell, one to taste, one to touch, one to see and one to hear. You can include a variety of different items in the gift that are personal to your recipient.
How to make a 5 senses gift
There are many creative ways to put together one of these gift collections, but today I’m sharing how I made one with my Cricut Joy that’s for my husband. It’s a 5 senses gift for him that’s easy to make and something that he’ll enjoy. Sean can be tricky to buy for, but I know he’ll appreciate all of these items and the way I’ve packaged them.
(You can learn about why I love my Cricut Joy so much right here.)
To make this 5 senses gift box:
You’ll need:
- a large basket or box
- taste gift (chocolates, candies, a drink mix etc.)
- smell gift (candle, aftershave, body spray etc.)
- touch gift (soft gloves, hand warmers, blanket etc.)
- hear gift (earbuds, music streaming subscription etc.)
- see gift (greeting card, love note, movie tickets etc.)
- Cricut Joy
- Smart Iron-On
- Cricut Joy Card Mat
- Joy Insert Cards
- Extra Fine Point Pens
- Standard Grip Mat
- white cardstock
- thin ribbon
- tissue paper
First, use this Cricut Design Space project file I made to create the five senses gift tags with your Cricut Joy. I used an Extra Fine Point black pen for the writing on the tags, and plain white cardstock for the tags. I love that I can use my Joy to both write and cut out these cute tags!

Next, use this greeting card Design Space project file to create a beautiful insert card using the Cricut Joy, Card Mat, and insert card of your choice. I cut mine on a navy blue coloured card. For the insert, I had a scrap piece of glitter iron-on material that I had mis-cut earlier so I used that for some sparkle!
Finally, use your Joy and some scrap pieces of Smart Iron-On material to create small monograms. Iron them on to one of the items in the gift box. For this gift, I chose to add my husband’s initials to these gloves for a personal touch.
Assembling the 5 senses gift basket
To put together your 5 senses gift basket, fill the bottom of a box or basket with tissue paper. Tie a piece of thin ribbon through each of the gift tags you created, and tie each one around each item in the gift.
You can explain the gift in a card that you include, or attach a personal note with the meaning of each item. This makes a fantastic gift for the Holidays, for a birthday, or for Valentine’s Day.
I absolutely love how this five senses gift for my husband turned out, and I can’t wait to give it to him this Christmas!
