Mood Board: Colourful Boho Craft Room & Office – Our DIY House
Currently, my “craft room” is my kitchen table (shared with our microwave and Hubby’s stash of paperwork) and my office is a 5 foot wide nook right next to Little C’s room (shhhhhhh… don’t type too loud)!
Needless to say, I’m ecstatic about having an office/craft room on the main floor of Our DIY House that has doors that can open to the kitchen and living room or close for privacy.
The look I want for this room is colourful and fun with a bohemian vibe. I want to include colours from the living room and kitchen for flow (yellow, red & turquoise) and it will have a desk and oodles of storage for paperwork, fabric and crafty supplies.
Inspirations:
- Ikea Expedit Desk & Shelf
- Bronze Pendant Light from Lowe’s Canada
- Ikea Pjas Basket
- Cornwall Garden Fabric
- Ikea Raskog Cart
- Newport Cottages Swivel Chair
- Surya Frontier Brave Zigzag Yellow Hand Woven Flatweave Rug
- Provence Oak Laminate Flooring from Lowe’s Canada
- New Arrivals Mini Memo Board Scout
- Ikea Hemnes Chest
What do you think – do colourful spaces give you crafty inspiration?

Love that desk!! It’s perfect for storing craft stuff! I’ve been eyeing up that cart since Ez on Creature Comforts posted it! Cute board 🙂
Thanks, Jess. I think this desk would be so perfect for boxes of fabric and craft supplies! The cartels awesome – I bought it a while ago and I’m using it as a sort of filing cabinet right now. 🙂
Love this!!
Thanks, Stephanie!
This is exactly the vibe I would go for too! I love how it’s fresh but comfortable and artsy at the same time. (I would love to know how you create these mood boards … would I need graphic design training to create one?)
Thank you, Julie! I used Photoshop to create these mood boards. You could do it with any graphic editing program – just bring photos into the program, erase their backgrounds (if they have any) and arrange them. You could also do something similar online with http://www.polyvore.com.
I saw the Raskog cart at IKEA recently, and I love it, too! It’s a perfect size, with a super-cute vintage look.
Love all of the colors! Can you tell me what the names of the paint colors are? (Hope I didn’t miss reading that information in the comment section)!
