DIY Paper Houses Christmas Advent Calendar

Learn how to make a DIY Christmas advent calendar on a shelf featuring adorable handmade paper houses.

This week, I’m re-creating this advent calendar on a shelf featuring the Stockbridge Bookcase from The Brick.

For my version, I decided to make 25 little white paper houses for the sweetest advent calendar Christmas village!

The Stockbridge Bookcase is perfect for this display with its tapered, but deep shelves. I also love how the white houses pop on the ebony colour of the shelf!

To create this DIY Christmas advent calendar, I cut some mini houses from white and champagne gold glitter cardstock with my Cricut. You don’t need a cutting machine to make houses like this; click here for a free paper house pattern. Then, I created numbered stickers from 1-25 and placed them on the houses. You could also write the numbers on the houses with a marker or pen. Next, I arranged the houses on 5 of the shelves of my Stockbridge bookcase and placed a chocolate beneath each one. Finally, I decorated the shelves with bottle brush trees, fairy lights and faux snow.

I’m so happy with how this turned out – it’s the cutest advent calendar ever! I can’t wait for my girls to enjoy it this December.
