Make an Easy Spring Banner with Scrapbook Paper
Make an Easy DIY Spring banner with Scrapbook Paper and twine. This is a great craft you can do with your kids to add some budget friendly Spring Decor to your living space.
We’re officially addicted to making banners at our house. Apparently we now need a banner for every major holiday, and we decorate the side of our kitchen pantry with the banner and related seasonal artwork that Little C creates.
It’s fun! I love it. And I simply cannot wait until we have a real, live fireplace mantel to decorate seasonally when we move into Our DIY House!
What you’ll need to make an Easy DIY Spring Banner
- coordinating sheets of scrapbook paper
- twine, yarn or string
- glue stick
- scissors
- ruler
- gems or stickers (optional)
Directions:
Cut a 6″ x 2″ rectangle out of one sheet of paper. Fold in half width wise, and then cut a triangle out of the open edge as shown. I marked a dot about 1″ up from the edge in the center of the piece and cut angles up to it and down from it.
Have your child spread glue over the inside center fold of the flag.
You or your child can then fold the flag over the twine/string and press it down. Ensure the twine is at the top fold of the flag. Leave a few inches of string before the first flag.
Repeat until you’ve made the banner as long as you’d like it.
Little C added some sticker gems on the banner, and we hung it up on our “seasonal wall” with some paper medallion flowers:
I’m sure more random Easter and spring related artwork will appear on the wall as we celebrate our spring break week leading up to Easter this weekend.
Happy Spring, friends!
