Make DIY Scrapbook Paper Christmas Tree Cones
The most gorgeous book of scrapbook paper was waiting for me at my last Michael’s trip. I don’t actually scrapbook at all anymore (it’s soooo time consuming), but I knew I had to snatch up this glittery, colourful book of awesomeness.
One idea I had for all of this lovely, Christmasy paper was to make simple “Christmas tree cones” for our mantel decor.
They were really easy to make (after I figured out the right dimensions for my cone template), and my girls and I had a blast picking out paper to make them with.
Materials:
- 12″ x 12″ scrapbook paper (cardstock)
- glue gun
- scissors
- printer & printer paper
Directions:
Click on the following links to download templates for a large and small cone and print them on printer paper:

Cut out the templates and trace them onto the scrapbook paper. Mark the fold lines (and make sure you flip the “large” template so that you trace both sides onto the cardstock).
Cut the cone shape out of the cardstock, and fold along the fold line from front to back as shown.
Using a glue gun, put a strip of glue along the folded tab and glue the opposite side of the cone to the tab as shown.
Voila! It’s simple, pretty Christmas decor that you can use for your mantel or festive table setting. I love how ours look on our Ikea candld holders on our mantel.
Such a cute Christmas tree! Will try to make that one too. And maybe a little bit bigger than your sample. Thanks
I love when easy peasy Christmas decorations come together like this! Just goes to show you don’t need to blow your budget on expensive decor!!
Thanks for your easy to follow directions. I’ve shared them when I made my own trees for my holly garland!
Thank you, Meredith!
