Mood Board: Vintage Industrial Cottage Kitchen – Our DIY House
Many, many hours of planning were spent over the kitchen design of Our DIY House. I even Photoshopped various light fixtures into my Ikea kitchen layout to make sure I was happy with the result. I spent days deciding between an island and a peninsula (I chose an island), and I stared endlessly at kitchen design photos in magazines and on Pinterest.
The final mood board for our kitchen is an eclectic blend of vintage, industrial and cottage decor. I want our kitchen to be sleek and clean looking (stainless steel appliances and polished chrome light fixtures), but still with warm touches (like bits of yellow and turquoise colours and creamy white upper cupboards).
What do you think of the final concept?
- Herringbone Carrara Marble Tile
- Ikea kitchen cupboards
- Hattaras Bay Mini Pendant from Kichler
- Premier Prints Twill Suzani Yellow Fabric
- Pfister Ashfield Faucet
- Ikea kitchen cupboards
- Ikea exhaust hood
- Ikea Domsjo Farmhouse Apron Sink
- allen + roth Provence Oak Laminate from Lowe’s Canada
- Lagoon Lattice Fabric
- Grand Baluster Table from Restoration Hardware
- Ikea Ingolf Bar Stool
I love it! Such beautiful colors and so much warmth and character!
Thanks so much, Angie! That’s what I’m going for – as much as I like a classic all white kitchen, I wanted to add some character and interest.
I love it! My favourite is the herringbone tile backsplash. It’s going to look great:)
Thanks, cuz! I adore the tile too. We may have to add it later though to stay on budget. 🙁 I’m willing to wait for it, though!
the Ikea Ingolf Bar Stool is too cute <3
