Our Vintage Industrial Fall Mantel
I was telling a friend the other day that I really needed to make our living room a little more “manly”. Our home has become a place with a lot of sparkle and flowers and fluff which I think makes sense considering there are four girls living here. However, my original vision for our home decor was to bring a lot of vintage industrial elements in, so I don’t want to lose sight of that! I recently got to go on a shopping spree to Urban Barn (it was part of my prize package for winning this contest), and one of my favourite purchases is a massive vintage-looking clock. I think it makes the most gorgeous vintage industrial centerpiece for our mantel.
What do you think? I think it works so well here! Our fireplace is quite large, so the large scale of the clock seems right at home.
I’ve decided to keep our Fall mantel decor quite simple this year with the clock being the main element.
A little bit of greenery via a moss ball and some faux grass adds natural elements, and I’m keeping my black lanterns right where they always are.
On my Ikea candle sticks, I’ve perched these DIY fabric pumpkins for a little whimsy.
It’s simple and rustic, and we love it.
Here’s a little peek at some of the changes I’ve made so far in our living room and how the mantel looks in the space.

Have you started your Fall decorating yet?
This mantle is gorgeous! Oh how I wish I had a mantle to decorate for each season.
Thanks, Melanie! I love our mantel too – it’s the first one I’ve ever had. I also love decorating the tops of dressers and shelves too if you don’t have a mantel!
The clock looks great on your mantel and is a lovely scale for it. Awesome that you won the contest to get the clock. Love the stacked stone and Fall decor too.
Thanks, Elizabeth!
Who is the clock made by , I love it!
Christina made it 🙂
I’m not sure who Christina is but I wish she sold them!
Christina is the wonderful lady who created TheDIYMommy.com and creates all the content:)
Thanks for stopping by and being so interested in her project 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous!!! LOVE it!
Thanks, Kristi!
You already know how much a love that clock. =D And yes, the scale is perfect! I hate tiny little wall clocks.
Your whole mantle looks great! And yes, a good balance of masculine and feminine.
Thanks, Sara! Yes, big clocks are fantastic!
Christina, your mantel is gorgeous! We have two in our house and it’s a lot of work to try and keep them both decorated pretty, so I’m always in the lookout for new ideas! I’m a sucker for a touch of vintage/industrial and you hit the nail right on the head! Thanks for sharing 🙂

What is the stone on this fireplace?
Love this clock! I recently purchased the same one and was trying to find how others have secured it to their mantle….I was thinking of letting in lean, similar to your photo, but I’m afraid of it falling or rolling side to side. Any tips?
Hey Carrie, Christina doesn’t find that her DIY clock falls or rolls to the side. Definitely, think it’s worth a try 🙂
Where can this clock be purchased that ships to the us?
Do you mind sharing who you purchased the clock from?
Christina made it from an electrical wheel ?
