Strawberry Chocolate Fondue Popsicles
It’s supposed to get to 32 degrees celcius up here this weekend, and I think my fellow Alberta girls (and boys) will agree – that is HOT for us! I’ve asked hubby to pick up a kiddie swimming pool for the girls for the weekend, and we’re planning as many cool-down activities as possible. One of our favourite ways to beat the heat? We eat a lot of popsicles and smoothies. Here’s one of our latest favourite homemade popsicle recipes – strawberry chocolate fondue popsicles – and click here to read my smoothie prep secret for perfect & quick summer smoothies. Special thanks to Green Works for sponsoring this post & encouraging this delicious and messy popsicle-making!
These tasty ice pops are really simple to make and they only require a few ingredients. They’re made with real strawberries. Yum! The strawberries in our new garden aren’t ripe yet, but when they are I know where they’re going! For these, I just used some frozen strawberries we had on hand.
Baby B would tell you how tasty these are if she could only stop eating them.
You could make these with or without the chocolate drizzle.
I’m personally a drizzle fan, and my hubby and the older girls aren’t so I make some with chocolate and some without. Either way they’re tasty and so refreshing on a hot summer’s day!
Here’s how to make these strawberry fondue popsicles (this makes 6):
Bring 3 cups of frozen or fresh strawberries, 1/2 cup sugar (or 1/4 cup honey) in a saucepan on the stove to a boil.
Remove from the saucepan, and blend in a blender until smooth.
Pour into popsicle molds.
Clean up the sticky mess on your counters with Green Works Cleaning Wipes. These are made using naturally-derived ingredients and I like using them around our kitchen because they are FAST!
Freeze the popsicles in the freezer overnight. Melt a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 1 tsp vegetable oil in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until they are smooth and runny.
Splatter and drizzle the chocolate over your popsicles, let them harden again in the freezer and enjoy!
