2017 Spring Home Tour
Why is Spring decor my favourite? Because I can go overboard with some of the decorative items I love most – flowers, pastels and nature-inspired things. Hooray! Today I’m so excited to be joining some of my Canadian blogging friends as we share our Spring home tours with you for the Canadian Bloggers Home Tour. Grab a latte, come take a virtual tour of my home decorated for Spring, and then make sure to pop down to the bottom of this post to see all of the other home tours happening this week. Happy decorating!
Welcome to our home. We built our house ourselves in 2013, and you can read more of that story here. Even though it’s a new build, I think it has the vintage charm that a lot of historical homes do. We’re slowly working at adding more character to our house as we finish it.
In case you’re new here – hello! My name is Christina and I’m a mom of 3 girls, a country dweller, a crafter, and a cookie baker. You can read more about me and my blog right here. Thank you for stopping by!
We live in Alberta, Canada, and it’s still quite snowy here. The outside of our house doesn’t look that pretty right now (hello, brown mushy grass and leaf-less trees!), but I’ve tried to bring some life and Spring colour into our interior to celebrate the new season.
On our show cabinet in our entry, I’ve placed some fluffy pink faux flowers and a blue glass jug. I love these colours for Spring, and I guarantee that if you add these hues into your home it will feel instantly fresh for Spring!
Our living room has been filled with fresh and faux flowers and some happy, pastel colours. I’ve also switched our drapes to a fresh, white option and I think that really makes the room feel lighter and Spring-ready.
I love sewing pillow covers for a quick and easy seasonal update. Click here to learn how to make your own cushion covers.
We still adore our Paris sectional from The Brick (we have the stone colour, and it’s been great with the kids), and I’ve moved our Daphne Accent Chair opposite the sectional. I’m loving this arrangement – it feels open and less crowded than what I had before!
The mantel has been decorated in whites, flowers and faux greenery, and you can read more details about that right here.
Fresh flowers can be expensive to purchase and continue replacing, so I recommend investing in some high quality faux florals for decorating. I love using them in my decor – especially for Spring! Add them to jars, baskets, and even loose on shelves.
Opposite our living room is our formal sitting room. Here’s where I hide my white coloured furniture from grubby kid fingers and enjoy a cup of tea or a latte to myself. Nothing much has changed here, but it gets a little update for Spring with some faux florals and a birdcage filled with greenery.
Finally, our kitchen feels fresh and ready for the warmer weather with some flowers and some of my favourite colours – blues, greens and pinks.
I made the drapes myself, and you can see how I made them right here. They were meant for Spring!
Our Hancock Park hutch has been decorated simply with white plates and turquoise glass. I even added a few faux hydrangea stems in turquoise to freshen everything up.
On top of our Hancock Park table from The Brick, I’ve made a DIY faux floral arrangement that makes the space feel so fresh and gorgeous. Learn how to make it by watching this video.
We’ve already done some entertaining here this month, and I can’t wait to decorate this table & hutch even more when we host Easter dinner soon! When we add the extra leaf to this table, it’s long enough to host a fabulous party.
For our island, I found a rustic tiered tray and decorated it in Spring finds. Aqua plates, faux greens, and faux nests give the kitchen a nature-inspired, fresh look.
Thank you so much for touring our home decorated for Spring!

Everything looks great, and your pops of turquoise and pink are so perfect for spring. Love the tired tray with the little nest. And, your outfit is great too. 😉
You’re too sweet, Dannyelle!
Beautiful in every way, Christina! Loving all those faux flowers!
Thank you, Kendra!
Such a great idea to change out the curtains to white. I agree, it looks so spring-like. Beautiful touches throughout your home. Happy spring!
Thank you so much, Shauna! Enjoy the rest of your week 🙂
Beautiful!! Interior designs. Look like heaven.
Thank you, Lance 🙂
Such a pretty home!!
Thank you, Chas 🙂
Super pretty Christina! I love all the hits of pink – they are stunning mixed with the aquas and blues. Lovely spring tour!!
Thank you so much, Krista!
The faux floral arrangement on the kitchen table is stunning! And I love your “Little Women” book. Your house looks so pretty and clean. (Clean is what I’m yearning for, but never seem to get to.)
Christina, you are seriously the queen of layering textures! I love all of the touches of spring and how soothing the colour palette is! Lovely!
Thank you, Julie!
Christina, your house always looks so beautiful and cozy. I love your use of colour – and I don’t think I ever noticed your cowhide (is that right?) rug in the family room. It’s a fantastic contrast to the gorgeous floral pillows you have on the couch. I love it!
I feel the same way about bringing the colour indoors! We’ve still got far too much snow at the moment, so all the colours is inside 😉 That being said, you’ve done a lovely job with the blues and pinks <3
Thank you, Ariel. Snow is finally melting over here where we live, YAY!! Christina, loves the colour instead. Wouldn’t you agree, it just brightens up your day? 🙂
I love your formal no grubby hands coffee table…would you be willing to share the info…I have been searching over 2 years now…thank you
Karen
Thank you, Karen. Christina’s coffee table is the beautiful Cranfill Coffee Table from The Brick. 🙂 Hope that helps you with your search.

Greetings from the other side of Canada! Your new spring look is absolutely gorgeous! I love seeing your home change with the seasons! So much inspiration! Love the pops of greenery, yet the overall cozy feel is still there. Thanks for sharing. I’m excited to see what I can do now for my home!
Hello Vittoria, Christina is thrilled you’ve enjoyed her new Spring look. The pops of colour and fresh flowers are really what makes it feel so Spring like. Over on this side of Canada, we’re still battling snow. Excited for it to warm up!
It’s so beautiful Christina! I love all the faux florals- I’ve never really considered them before seeing how gorgeous they look here!
Also- I love that you have a photo of you opening the door, such a cool way to start the tour!
Beautiful as always! I’ve never been a huge fan of faux florals, but they look so gorgeous in your house I might have to give them a second chance. Also, I’ve seen birdcages about a million times out shopping, but for some reason seeing yours has made me decide I have to have one. I’m redoing the decor on a shelf in my living room and I want all white items so a white birdcage would be perfect!
Fluffy pink faux flowers are really giving a fresh look. Lovely pictures of your home, Interiors are simply amazing.
You’re too sweet, thank you!!
I have no clue how I found you but I’m so glad I did! Beautiful home and great advice. Those pillows in your formal sitting room make me swoon! Everything is pretty and well put together. I just subscribed so I look forward to everything else you do. Happy Spring!
Thank you so much, Cindy! We’re happy to have to included in our Mommy family 🙂
SO pretty Christina!! I’m in love with all of the pink – I don’t get much of that in a house full of boys! 🙂 You look so cute in your photo too – love the shirt!
Thank you, Jennifer! Christina’s husband can relate to the pink. However, he got spoiled and got a pretty awesome man cave so we figure its a good trade. 🙂
Hello!
Can I please ask where you got your Trellis rug? its perfect!
Love everything!! Can you please tell me where your gray sectional is from please?
Thank you Christine. It’s from The Brick ?
This has been a great read for me and I am sure many others will love it as well, Thanks for your efforts here.
