2019 Fall Home Tour
Welcome to our house on the Alberta prairies – all decorated for the Fall season! Come take a tour of our home, and get some ideas on how to decorate your own house for Fall in a colourful and budget-friendly style.
You may be popping by from Jamie’s tour from So Much Better With Age (I love her and her style!) as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Fall home tour hop hosted by Krista of The Happy Housie. Hello, there! I’m Christina and I love on an acreage in Alberta, Canada with my hubby and three daughters. My DIY & decor blog & YouTube channel is my full-time job (and being a mama is my other full-time job!) and my Hubs is a general contractor.
We built our home in 2013 and it’s a work-in-progress that we’re loving making our own. Make sure to check out all the links at the bottom of this post to see all of the other bloggers taking part in this Fall home tour series – I can’t wait to see everyone’s houses decorated for the season!
As you might already be able to tell from the ladder on our front porch and the dirt on our steps… I’m keeping everything pretty casual this year.
We JUST finished tiling our front steps with slate tile we found on Kijiji, and I was so excited to decorate our newly widened steps with mums and pumpkins. A dream come true!
Inside our home, cozy and colourful is king! Our living room is decorated in mustard yellows and teals, and you can find all the info on this space in my latest living room blog post right here.
Turning the corner into our breakfast nook & kitchen area, a quick swap of the drapes made this room feel Fall-ready. I had white ones in here before, and adding these drapes that I made a few years ago instantly changed the look of the room! If you’re on a budget, always think of how you can swap out textiles like drapes or throw pillows to make a seasonal change.
My 5 year old daughter, Little B, was really excited to decorate our breakfast nook, so I let her choose the throw pillows and tabletop decor for the room. I loved it so much, that I simply left it as-is!
This girl has an eye for decor and a love of fresh flowers like her mama. (The hydrangeas are from our garden!)
Or dining room is the final space I wanted to share with you today, and I love how colourful it is with this dramatic rug! You can read all about the rug here and the inexpensive Fall tablescape right here.

I hope you enjoyed this colourful, casual and budget-friendly Fall home tour today! Make sure to stay tuned to my blog and my YouTube channel for more spaces (like our master bedroom!) as I share them for the season.
